GETME’s “Experiential Therapy in Action” is training in a family of humanistic/experiential/existential therapies that include Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Focusing, etc.
This 12-week training group for psychotherapists and psychotherapists-in-training examines the moment-by-moment process of conducting experiential therapy. This is an experiential training in experiential therapy!

We’ll use action techniques to set up and explore moments of uncertainty, confusion, or stuckness in the therapy hour. We’ll slow down the process, and carefully examine our clinical understandings, intuitions, and therapeutic choices.
There is a vast repertoire of experiential interventions, and their effective selection depends on one’s here-and-now process assessment. In this group you’ll broaden your process assessment skills, as well as observe and practice skillful, well-timed interventions. This is a deep study of the therapeutic process.
Topics include:
- Empathic Attunement
- Process Assessment
- Empathic Reflections
- Empathic Explorations
